Dr Verma was born in Lakhimpur-Kheri Uttar Pradesh. His PhD research was focused on the functionalization of C─H bonds of various alkyl/aryl moieties and their mechanistic investigation, subsequently providing various biologically important N/O-heterocyclic moleculesHe worked as a Research Assistant at the Chemistry Department IISER Bhopal. In June 2018, he moved to the University of Liverpool, Liverpool, England, as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and worked with Professor Mattew J. Rosseinsky, FRS, on the designing and synthesis of peptide-based organic linkers to discover a new class of bio-based flexible porous materials. In 2018, The Royal Society awarded Dr Verma the prestigious Newton International Fellowship. He joined Concept Life Sciences (part of Malvern Panalytical) as a Senior Chemist in Jan 2022 and worked till Oct 2022 on different R&D projects.

In Oct 2022, Dr Verma joined the Chemistry Department at the Central University of Allahabad, Prayagraj, as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry. He also holds an Honanray Research Associate position at the University of Liverpool, Liverpool, England, Great Britain (UK).
